Alexis Haines (née Neiers) recently revealed that she’s in an open marriage — and currently dating Braunwyn Windham-Burke‘s ex-girlfriend Kris. Now, she exclusively tells OK! that she’s never been happier with her current relationship status.

The 30-year-old married Evan Haines in 2012, and together the two share two children, Harper, 8, and Dakota, 5. And while some may balk at the idea of being in an open marriage, according to the former TV personality, it’s working out swimmingly for her and her husband.

“Evan and my marriage is secure. We’re so happy together and I am grateful to have a partner who loves me unconditionally and is okay with me owning my sexuality as a queer woman,” Alexis tells OK!. “The kids are happy and have always known that I identify as bisexual.”

“We are a family who values emotional intelligence, being inclusive and being allies to the LGBTQ+ and all marginalized communities so our unconventional marriage didn’t come as a shock to them,” the reality star continues. “We are slowly speaking to the kids about these things in an age appropriate manner.”
“As far as Kris goes, we started speaking in May and it wasn’t a good fit at the time. We continued speaking over the next several months as friends and then she asked me to dinner to explore this relationship further. I agreed and we had a good connection,” Alexis says. “We’re also in an open relationship although I’m not dating anyone outside of her at the moment because I want to explore where this might lead.”

“We have a solid emotional connection and so far it’s been so comfortable and easy,” Alexis confides. “Being with her feels so good and I’m loving the time I get with her though it’s limited because of my situation.”

At the time, Alexis was secretly dealing with drug addiction and spent time behind bars. Now, however, she is ten years sober — and candidly speaks about her experiences on her podcast, Recovering From Reality. The mom-of-two also serves as a counselor at Oro House, a rehabilitation center in Malibu, co-founded by her husband.
