According to NBC News, the 69-year-old filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, September 7, stating that the “Toxic” singer, 39, “is entitled to have this Court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required.”
The outlet also reported that the Crossroad star’s circumstances have changed “to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist”.

Britney was previously put under the guardianship 13 years ago following a mental health crisis. However, the mom-of-two’s passionate court testimony — in which she alleged she was forced to wear an IUD and take Lithium while under the “abusive” conservatorship — in June sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, prompting many celebrities to speak out in her defense.
After news broke that Jamie had filed the petition, Britney took to Instagram Story to share a photo of herself modeling a bright yellow dress.

She also shared a photo alongside collaborator Iggy Azalea on stage at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, writing, “It was so much fun working with such a strong, badass woman like her …. I haven’t met her new baby but if shje’s reading this God bless you and thank you for all your kind words !!!! Pssss although the name of the song is Pretty Girls I think the concept is more like recenge of the NERDS !!!!”

“During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behavior Britney detailed in regards to her father [Jamie Spears] last week and I just want to back her up & tell the world that: She is not exaggerating or lying,” she alleged, noting she was forced to sign an NDA moments before she performed alongside Spears for their joint performance at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
