The 29-year-old’s comments not only enraged the audience, but also the artists the rapper has worked with — including the “One Kiss” singer.

, 25, took to Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 27, writing, “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby‘s comments. I really don’t recognize this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

Their chart-topping collaboration “Levitating” was released back in October of 2020, and reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

DaBaby is not one to stray from controversy. As OK! previously reported back in February, the rapper made unflattering remarks about young entertainer JoJo Siwa in the music video for his song “Beatbox Freestyle”.

Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard also slammed the rapper following his . “Dababy has some explaining to do,” she tweeted on Monday, July 26. “I’m just really bothered by what he said. To refer to HIV and AIDS as a ‘deadly disease’ that kills people in ‘2-3 weeks’ is disgusting and dangerous at best. Like. Why would you say that?”
