Greg’s previous spat with stage three colon cancer was covered on the reality show, where viewers watched struggle with caring for her sick husband and the hit their marriage took.

“He’s been in the hospital for a week, tomorrow,” the 53-year-old told The Jasmine Brand on Instagram Live, when asked about her husband. “I’m sure he’ll be home in about a week or so. He had to have a surgery, [because] his cancer did return.”

It’s difficult,” she admitted and said that the 66-year-old was “different.” “He’s super small,” she explained.

“He’s had this surgery before and he was in the hospital for about 15 days,” NeNe explained of his current health struggle.

She first went public with the news of Gregg’s cancer in June 2018 when she shared a photo of him in a doctor’s office to Instagram.

“It’s very, very hard to be a caretaker,” she once admitted to PEOPLE. “People call and they say, ‘How’s Gregg doing?’ and I want to throw the phone and say, ‘How the f**k am I doing? I’m going crazy over here, Gregg is wearing me out!’ I am not good at this s**t! I would rather hire somebody. Gregg doesn’t wants me to hire somebody, but I’m just not good. I’m not good at fluffing the pillow; I’m good at buying the pillow.”

During a reunion special in April 2019, NeNe even admitted that she had been considering a second divorce from Gregg due to his attitude while undergoing chemotherapy. The pair initially tied the knot in 1997 before divorcing in 2011 and then remarrying in 2013.

 “We always hurt the ones we love… because they allow us to hurt them rather than snap back,” Gregg later admitted in an apology on Instagram.

“I’m tired of hurting my wife who is only trying to take good care of me and wants only the best for me too. She deserves much more for her hard efforts and tireless hours spent on me. I pray to God to get it together… she’s done NO wrong… this is ALL on me,” he explained.

In May 2019, the couple took to Instagram to reveal that he had gone into remission. “Look at God! We are over joyed to say, we saw the doctors for the results of Gregg’s Pet Scan he took last week! Test show, wait for It…..WE ARE CANCER FREE!!!” the post read.
