“We have temporarily halted production on Mission: Impossible 7 until June 14th, to positive coronavirus results during routine testing. We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation,” the production team told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement.

It is not clear exactly who tested positive or how many confirmed cases there were.

The film was delayed several times. It was previously delayed in February 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic before it resumed with safety protocols in place in September.

In December, all eyes were on the set with audio surfaced of Cruise shouting at crew members who reportedly stood too close together.

“And if you don’t do it, you’re fired,” the 58-year-old said in the audio, which was first reported by The Sun. “I see you do it again, you’re f***ing gone.”

“You can tell it to the people that are losing their f***ing homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education,” Cruise also said. “We are not shutting this f***ing movie down!”

Cruise later acknowledged the incident with Empire Magazine, and said he asked most crew members to leave so he could address “select people.”

I said what I said,” he told the outlet. “There was a lot at stake at that point but it wasn’t my entire crew.”

Crusie noted that he felt pressure to keep the filming rolling and to keep the crew employed, but it was too much for him. “All those emotions were going through my mind,” he explained as the film was one of the first to be postponed due to the pandemic.

Mission: Impossible 7 was reportedly originally scheduled for release on July 23 but has been pushed back to May 27, 2022.
