Buckingham Palace announced that the happy couple is their firstborn in the fall. “The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news,” the statement read.

After recently mourning the loss of the late Prince Philip, many royal fans were happy that Beatrice has brought some positivity back to the palace. “Nice to hear some happy news. Congratulations!” one user responded.

“Congratulations!!! such lovely news, that will bring a smile to HM The Queen, after the sad past days,” another user said.

Beatrice and Edoardo tied the knot in Windsor in July in a small, secret ceremony. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small number of guests were invited, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; her parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew; and Prince Eugenie, among others.

The pair got engaged in September 2019 after they began dating the year before, but the original wedding plans were scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” the couple announced at the time. “We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Mozzi has a son, Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship, which makes Beatrice the second royal to become a stepmother in history — the other being Prince Charles‘ wife Camilla Parker Bowles

Beatrice’s sister welcomed her first earlier this year. Eugenie gave birth to son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank on February 9 with Jack Brooksbank; he is also Eugenie’s first child.

“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you,” Eugenie gushed shortly after he was born.
