Duty calls! Princess Eugenie, 30, is over the moon after welcoming her first child, baby boy August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, with businessman husband Jack Brooksbank. But now, the new mom is “torn” about taking time out from her royal responsibilities, an insider dishes to OK!.
“Eugenie would love to take a long break from everything and focus solely on raising her son,” says the insider. However, “she knows deep down how much she’s needed, especially since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are showing no signs of coming back.”
“She’s impressed by how Kate is able to juggle her official duties while raising three kids [George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2],” adds the insider. “Kate could help her work out the logistics, but it won’t be easy to pull off. Eugenie has a hard decision ahead of her!”
The palace confirmed Eugenie’s exciting news on the family’s official Twitter account on Tuesday, February 9, the day she welcomed little August, who weighed in at 8 lbs. 1 oz.

Though the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson couldn’t help but gush over her little man on social media, she also seems determined to keep her kid out of the spotlight. As OK! previously reported, Eugenie wants to give her son — who is 11th in line to the throne — a simple and normal life, even if he’ll still grow up with royal privileges.
“Even if the Queen offered them a title as a gift, it’s not Eugenie or Jack’s desire for their child to have a title. Eugenie knows that a title can be a curse as well as a blessing,” an insider previously said. “Titles really don’t matter to Jack and Eugenie, they just want a happy, healthy child.”
