“I can’t wait for this moment!” Savchenko told Mr. Warburton magazine. “Last season when Johnny Weir got on the show I was like, ‘Johnny, you HAVE to be my partner,’ but they ended up not doing it. They’ve done it before in Australia with Courtney Act and in the U.K. with Nicola Adams and they were both amazing!”
The Russian dancer added, “Of course, there is a strong male/female dynamic in dance, but if you have two men doing the same thing it would look awesome and be so fascinating. I would love to do it, but it would have to be with the right partner.”

Savchenko went on to express how much he appreciates the support he has received from the LGBTQ+ community over the years and throughout his time on the show. “Having their support means so much. I love my fans and anyone who’s super positive and give you lots of love,” he said.

DWTS has undergone many changes in the past couple years and now that host Tyra Banks has a full season under her belt, OK! exclusively learned that the supermodel is looking to make more changes to the dance series in the upcoming season. “Tyra is an idea machine. She is constantly sending notes and thoughts to her team. Next season she wants to make even more changes, including more fashion, more backstage drama and, of course, more Tyra,” a source dished.
Banks has been a proven ally to the LGBTQ+ community throughout her life and career, giving many the hope she will be able to implement this much needed change.

Savchenko has appeared on the U.S., U.K., Australian and Russian versions of Dancing with the Stars.
He was born in Moscow and began dancing when he was 8 years old.

He has two daughters: Olivia and Zlata.
Savchenko made his debut on DWTS on season 16. He was partnered with RHOBH alum Lisa Vanderpump.

This past season he was partnered with Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, and they finished in 8th place.
