The baby boy automatically becomes the 11th in line to the throne, previously held by Prince Edward, who now takes the 12th position.

Though the little tot will grow up royal, a source previously revealed that the two want their child to have a normal life. “Even if the Queen offered them a title as a gift, it’s not Eugenie or Jack’s desire for their child to have a title. Eugenie knows that a title can be a curse as well as a blessing,” an insider previously said.

The pair also want their child to work to earn their living. “Titles really don’t matter to Jack and Eugenie, they just want a happy, healthy child,” the source said.

In September of last year, Eugenie revealed she and her husband of nearly two-and-a-half years were expecting. “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021,” she wrote alongside a sweet snap of baby slippers.

Well wishes quickly poured in from family members, with Her Majesty releasing a statement saying she was “delighted” for her granddaughter, while Eugenie’s mom, Sarah, took to Twitter to express her elation.

“Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy,” she said proudly.
