It’s hard to know what Jack Nicholson is most famous for: his acting or his hard and fast lifestyle. At 80-years-old, the three-time Acadamy Award-winning actor is iconic, not only for his alarmingly convincing portrayals of psychopathic characters but for his unquenchable thirst for women and partying.

However, it would seem that his wild private (or not so private, as the case may be) life has now caught up with the veteran star, who was last seen on the screen back in 2010 in the ill-fated comedy, How Do You Know – a film which the LA Times later called the biggest box office flop of all time.

Nicholson’s impressive career boasts 76 acting credits, with critically acclaimed performances in cult classic movies such as Batman, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and The Shining. These successes saw Nicholson become the undisputable king of Hollywood, scoring an impressive 12 Academy Award nominations – the most of any male in the business as the records currently stand.

But his reign over Hollywood in the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s soon began to dwindle after the turn of the millennium. Nicholson’s name quickly began to slip from the starlit signs around Tinseltown as the actor rejected role after role. Now a bonafide star with plenty of cash in the bank, Nicholson was able to pick and choose what he put his name to – and, in contrast to his way with women, he became quite scrupulous with his acting roles.
