Discovering that your partner has been unfaithful is a nightmare for everyone in a committed relationship. Even the most rational of people harbor a fear that they’ll one day find evidence of their partner’s infidelity – be it a stray thong or, worse, a used condom.

But how would you feel if you blindly unearthed your partner’s adulterous ways via an innocent Instagram browse? For one Russian wife, that was exactly how she learned that her husband was cheating on her after she stumbled upon a rather suspicious photograph.

Yulia Agranovych was scrolling through Instagram when she saw a fairly inconspicuous photograph of the night sky, peppered with the glowing lights of the Russian city of St. Petersburg. To everyone, except for Agranovych, the photo was barely worth any attention.

But she recognized something in the snap that made her double take – thanks to her eagle eye, her husband was about to get busted.

The glittering landscape captured in the image looked incredibly familiar to Agranovych, who thought it looked identical to the view from her own bedroom window. Momentarily confused, she clicked on to the profile of the person who’d posted the snap, only to see a timeline saturated with images of a woman she’d never met lounging in her house – the house she shared with her husband.

The innocuous photograph taken from Agranovych’s bedroom window led her to find photographs of an unfamiliar woman taking seductive selfies in her bathroom mirror while wearing very little clothing. It was the Instagram browse of nightmares.

Confused, Agranovych began to investigate the woman’s Instagram further, which is when she learned that this woman, Vlada Abramovich, whom she had never met before, was claiming that she lived in the flat with her husband.

The offending image that had first peaked Agranovych’s interest was captioned, “Beautiful view from my husband’s bedroom.”

“I wasn’t searching for anything, it was a normal morning,” she revealed in an interview on the Russian news channel Ren-TV. “Like any other person in the 21st century. I began my day browsing through my Instagram timeline, and suddenly I saw this very photograph.”

“It turned out that this woman and I have a large number of the same subscribers. Having visited her account, I found many other interesting photographs, including those of my husband.”

Confident that her husband, Nazar Grynko, was having an affair, she did what any scorned partner would and confronted him. But Grynko, clearly oblivious to how careless he had been, initially denied that he had been unfaithful.

Instead, he told his wife that whilst she’d been away he’d invited friends round for drinks before they all went to the cinema. He brazenly told her that the woman in the pictures was a friend’s girlfriend and that she’d simply jumped to conclusions.

Not satisfied with this explanation, Agranovych identified one major flaw in his story. “When the guests came, they would have headed to the kitchen to drink tea – not to the bedroom,” she told her floundering husband.

Vlada Abramovich locked her account after the discovery, but eventually, she acknowledged the part she had to play in the affair.

Discussing the situation on social media, the woman showed no remorse for sleeping with a married man, instead, she wrote, “She is his wife, not mine, what’s the problem? Is he just a vegetable without free will? Don’t make me laugh.”

She went on to say that people were “living in the 18th century” and defended her actions by declaring, “If I want to have sex, I’ll have it.”

Meanwhile, Grynko, caught in a particularly tight corner, admitted the truth. He told his wife that he’d had several lovers whilst she’d been out of town, however, he maintained that he’d never been “mentally unfaithful” having “told every girl he was married.”

“I loved this phrase about being mentally faithful,” Agranovych said sarcastically, before going on to discover that this too was a lie when she contacted his other lovers who were, thankfully, less callous than Abramovich had been.

“The other girls were much more pleasant, one even crying on the phone to me, saying she had no idea he was married,” she said.

“It will be divorce. I hope to do it quickly… such people never change,” she said of her future plans. “If he finds a woman who is ready to be with him, and to accept it, let them be happy together. I’m so glad I got to know about it now and not when I became pregnant, for example, because we were planning to have a family. Or when I was 40, and we have three kids.”

Rather than be angry with the woman who casually hooked up with her husband, Agranovych is grateful. “Thank you, Vlada Abramovich – you are an experienced woman who taught me a good lesson,” she said, concluding the explosive story.

In this modern world, discovering that your partner is cheating isn’t refined to simply finding a stray hair on their clothing. From Instagram to drones, there are endless ways to catch them. This husband used a drone to catch his wife doing the dirty on him:

We hope that Agranovych finds happiness with a faithful partner in the future.
