When Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New York City premiered on March 6, fans were introduced to new cast member Barbara Kavovit. Though the businesswoman is technically just a “friend” on the series, she’s already made quite an impression.
The Bronx-born mother-of-one is the founder of a home improvement company called Stand-Ins and serves as the CEO of Evergreen Construction.
“I mean, it’s really exciting to be able to be the boss,” Barbara told Us Weekly in an interview. “I like to call myself ‘boss lady,’ being the CEO of a construction company and having 75 guys at any given time on your job site, and being the person that is ultimately responsible for the schedule, the budget, change orders, making sure everything happens on time because there’s so much money at stake at all times.”
The author — whose novel, “Heels of Steel,” comes out in June — is also a good friend of Luann de Lesseps’. The pair have known each other for over 14 years and initially met on a playground.
