When you make the decision to become a school teacher, you realize you have a responsibility to ensure that your students are kept safe from all kinds of harm. There are no two ways about it – school kids are in your care from the moment the school day begins, until the second it ends.
However, some teachers not only fail on this front but will abuse the power they have over their students by entering into a sexual relationship with them.

Tayler Boncal, who is now 22 years old, was a teacher and assistant track coach at Conard High School in West Hartford, Connecticut where she started a relationship with an 18-year-old male student. After being accused of sexually assaulting the boy, who has not been named, she told the police investigating the case that she loves him.

When the relationship was found out, Boncal was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault and is now waiting for her next court appearance.

The disgraced teacher is currently facing a sentence of at least nine months in jail, and could potentially have to serve a maximum sentence of 10 years in addition to paying a $10,000 fine.
