Unless you’ve been incredibly lucky, you’ll know what it’s like to experience a once happy relationship turn sour. Relationships can end for a variety of reasons, and whilst we’ve all thought about getting revenge on our ex, few people go as far as to have them killed.

We live in a world where where you can easily turn your former beau into a series of hilarious memes, destroy all of the tokens from your time together in an epic way, and, in extreme cases, catfish them. But it’s best to walk way with your dignity relatively in tact.

Whilst it can be hard to accept that someone has done the dirty on you, or simply fallen out of love, we should all be allowed the chance to move on. Former lovers killing each other is nothing new, and sometimes it can be done with comparatively little motivation.

After eight years of marital bliss, Ramon and Maria ‘Lulu’ Sosa’s marriage took a turn for the worst when Ramon’s gym experienced financial trouble in 2015. This was enough enough to make Lulu hire a hitman to kill Ramon in 2016 after separating the previous year.

Ramon earned a living as a professional boxing coach, and Lulu made the fatal mistake of attempting to hire one of his former students to carry out the hit. She was willing to pay a grand total of $2,000 to have her estranged husband murdered.

Still loyal to his former coach, the hitman that 43-year-old Lulu tried to hire told Ramon all about her plan. The shocked 50-year-old then decided to catch the would-be murderess out with the help of the FBI by faking his own death.

“Unwittingly, she had approached a guy called Gustavo to see if he could organise the hit, without realising we were friends,” Ramon said.

“I knew him, because I’d coached him. He’d been in trouble in the past. At first, when he called and said he needed to see me, because someone ‘wanted to kill me,’ I thought he was joking.”

“Then we devised a plan, for him to wear a wire and tape her offering money to have me killed, before turning the evidence over to the cops.”
