Can you build an engine out of paper and power it with air? If you’re thinking no, we’re here to prove you wrong! You’re going to need detailed knowledge of how an engine works and a whole lot of tape, but it can be done! YouTube user Al Zh showed us their version.

The spinning section will cause the pistons to move. It just needs a power source, like the air from the balloon.

If you’re wondering how a jet of air doesn’t just blow right through the engine, it’s because there’s a fan blade (of sorts) that distributes the airflow.
If you think you can make one of these, we totally suggest trying to re-create this yourself. Perhaps you’ll even come up with another way to create moving parts with paper. You never know what you might create!
